Scott County Community Foundation board member Ryan Payne presents a check for $8,331 to Scott County Family YMCA President/CEO Donald Coomer. The grant was awarded from the YMCA’s endowment fund at the Community Foundation and will be used to support the Y’s mission and programs. The YMCA offers group exercise classes, pickleball, youth sports, fitness center, indoor walking track, gymnasium and much more. For information, call 812-752-9622 or visit www.scfy.org.

Through a matching grant opportunity from Lilly Endowment, your gift for the YMCA may be matched dollar for dollar! Donations should be made payable to the Community Foundation for the Scott County Family YMCA Community Project Fund. The YMCA plans to construct a new state-of-the-art daycare facility and multi-purpose areas. The YMCA will convert their unusable pool area into 10,000 square feet of renovated space, construct a 15,000-square-foot playground, an outdoor parking area, and create additional gym space, multi-purpose and meeting rooms. They plan to have up to five classrooms to house 85 children ages 6 months and older. Contact the Foundation for details at 812-752-2057 or email info@scottcountyfoundation.org.
