Dale E. and Rosemarie Hobbs Fund
As the board chairman for the Scott County Community Foundation, Dale Hobbs wanted to show his commitment to the Foundation?s mission. When the board approved the Foundation?s new Forever Tree Society memorial and tribute program, Dale demonstrated that support by becoming an inaugural member along with his wife, Rosemarie.
The couple are very active in the community. Both Dale and Rosemarie are retired educators from Scott County School District 2. When Rosemarie retired, she was teaching students at Johnson Elementary. Dale was the principal at Vienna-Finley Elementary.
Both are members of the Henryville Church of Christ, where Dale serves as deacon. Dale is also a board member for the Scott County Partnership and Englishton Park. He serves as president of the Scott County Area Plan Commission and vice president of the Scott County Board of Zoning Appeals. He is also a member of Master Gardeners. Both enjoy gardening, theater and fishing, while Dale also hunts.
By establishing the Dale E. and Rosemarie Hobbs fund in the Forever Tree Society, they are able to support the mission of the Foundation today and for generations to come. They like the many benefits of the program ? that a person or organization can begin a fund with a small amount of money, that anyone can contribute to their fund in any amount for any special occasion, and that when their Blossom Fund reaches the Willow Fund level, grants will be awarded to the community in their honor. They were also able to take advantage of the Foundation?s matching funds program, providing $1 for every $1 they contribute.
