Scott County Kiwanis Club President Rev. Tim Mohon presents a check for $2,400 to United Way of Scott County Executive Director Ellen Owens. The grant was awarded from the Kiwanis Club’s endowment fund at the Scott County Community Foundation and will be used for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program and to support United Way’s mission. There are currently 885 children in Scott County who are receiving free books mailed directly to their homes each month, and 2,289 kids who “graduated” from the program when they turned five years old. If you have a child aged from birth to five, they can be registered for the age-appropriate books at www.imaginationlibrary.com. The Kiwanis Club’s mission is to improve our community by improving our kids, and has been serving the kids of Scott County since 1961.
