Scottsburg High School junior James Wuerzburger received the 2017 Scott County Youth Grantmaking Council (?YGC?) Helping Hand Award. He is shown with Community Service Committee Chairperson Emma Waskom. James has hundreds of hours of volunteer service and is working toward finishing his Eagle Scout rank, which is an impressive achievement! His Eagle Scout project was to create Trail Head Maps and lighted post markers for Moonglo Trail in Scottsburg. James was honored at the YGC?s annual dinner, where he received a certificate and $100 for his efforts. This is the fourth year the YGC has awarded the Helping Hand Award to honor youth who have set themselves apart from others by working to make Scott County a better place.
