Scott County Community Foundation board member Casey Brewster presents a check for $6,050 to Humane Society of Scott County board member Deb Selke, along with residents Daphne and Pebbles. The grant was awarded from the Dr. William and Diann Scott Memorial Fund at the Community Foundation and will be used to help with the medical and physical needs of the dogs and cats, as well as offset additional costs of spaying and neutering animals. The Humane Society was able to help 503 dogs and cats get adopted locally or sent to no-kill rescue partners to find forever homes last year. There are currently 45 cats at the adoption center and 16 dogs in foster homes that are patiently waiting for new homes.
