Scottsburg Fire Department Firefighter Dave Morris and Scottsburg Lions Club Treasurer Scott Murphy display one of three masks purchased through a $780 grant from the Scottsburg Lions Club/D.Q. Reid Memorial Fund at the Scott County Community Foundation.
The Scottsburg Lions Club challenges the other Scottsburg civic groups (Kiwanis, Moose, Masons, etc.) to help the Scottsburg Fire Department with their endeavor to purchase each of the firefighters with an individual SCBA face piece. The cost is $260 each and the department needs 27 more. For a limited time, donations to the Scottsburg Lions Club/D.Q. Reid Memorial Fund will be matched 50 cents for every $1 through a matching grant opportunity from Lilly Endowment.
