The community is invited to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the permanent Scott County Farmers? Market structure. The special event will be held Saturday, May 15 at 9 a.m. at the grounds of the Scott County Heritage Center and Museum, 1050 S. Main St., Scottsburg. This is also the opening day for the Farmers? Market, and the Museum will host a barn sale.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held in December after the Scott County Community Foundation announced the funding of the structure as its gift to the community to celebrate Scott County?s Bicentennial. It is hoped that the structure can be used not only to sell fresh produce, baked goods, farm fresh food and crafts, but also for educational lunches, demonstrations and special events. Construction is being completed by J-A Broady Construction. On behalf of the Scott County Community Foundation, Scott County Heritage Center and Museum, and Scott County Farmers? Market, we hope you will join us to celebrate the agriculture and history of Scott County.
