Rivalries and basketball fever will come together for a good cause at the Scott County Youth Grantmaking Council?s first-ever Thanksgiving Throwback Throwdown fundraiser! The Austin versus Scottsburg game will feature alumni from the schools battling for a coveted traveling trophy and bragging rights.
The big event will be held Sunday, Nov. 22 at 6 p.m. at Meyer Gym in Scottsburg. Tickets are $3 for students and seniors, and $5 for adults. Concessions will be available. John Jones GM City has sponsored a shoot-out contest in between the girls and guys games. Fans are welcome to stay after the games for an autograph session with their favorite players.
Many players, ranging from from the Class of 1973 through the most recent graduating class of 2015 have committed to play this fun event. They include:

Coaches Donna Cheatham, Rhonda Smith, Scott Murphy and Gene Rogers will oversee the Scottsburg players, while coaches Mike Deaton and Jared Petersen will assist the Austin players. AHS graduate and former Youth Grantmaking Council member Kayla Griffen will do the honors of singing the National Anthem before the games.

All proceeds will benefit the youth of Scott County. The YGC is a program of the Scott County Community Foundation, where youth learn about community service, leadership, teamwork, fundraising and grantmaking.
