Scott County Community Foundation board member Nicole White, right, presents a check for $475 to Scott County School District 1 Director of English Language Services Brooke Hall. The grant was awarded from the Gladys A. Berna Education Fund at the Scott County Community Foundation. The funds will be used to purchase earbuds for students with no English background, allowing them to hear instruction in their home language. The Gladys A. Berna Education Fund was established to honor the legacy of “Miss Gladys,” who taught in Scott County for 38 years.
