2021 Lilly Scholar – Logan Weilbaker

Logan Weilbaker
2021 graduate, Scottsburg High School
Attending Wabash College to major in theater/classics

“I can’t believe my third year at Wabash is already done! I continued my theater studies, and I had an amazing experience starring in Wabash’s first musical in a decade, Something Rotten! I also traveled to New York in December, where I sat in on pre-production workshops for a country-music musical. In addition, I took on a double major in classics, and my Greek studies took me to the Bay of Naples, Italy in March where my class toured ancient Pompeii, walked in the world’s best-preserved Greek temples, and even hiked up Mount Vesuvius. This summer, I will work as a research assistant on an upcoming book about ancient perception of epicureanism. Outside of class, I continued working as a consultant in the Writing Center, for which I was named the Julia Rosenberg Writing Scholar, and I was also inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. I continued my work with the school newspaper, The Bachelor, which was named DIII Newspaper of the Year by the Indiana Collegiate Press Association. I took on a greater role as managing editor, and earned the Outstanding Student-in-Journalism Award for my work. This summer, I will continue my journalism education by interning with the Communiations and Marketing department at Wabash. One more year to go!”
