Creating Lasting Change
Community leadership means many things. Strengthening nonprofits. Tackling issues. Connecting key players. Because of our connection to donors, nonprofits, elected officials, and residents who care deeply about our community, community foundations are often well-positioned to tackle issues of vital significance to our community.
Scott County Community Foundation collaborates locally and regionally to address needs. These initiatives include our early childhood education partnership with United Way of Scott County; our efforts to increase the educational attainment level of adults through our Education Matters Southern Indiana program with the community foundations in Clark, Floyd, Harrison, and Washington counties; our work with creating the Align Southern Indiana regional partnership; and most recently to undertake a comprehensive Community Needs Assessment as well as create a Scott County Vision Plan.
