Students with the Scott County Youth Grantmaking Council (YGC), a program of the Scott County Community Foundation, recently collected 237 items and $40 for the Scott County Community Clearinghouse. The collection was part of the Souper Bowl of Caring, a nationwide effort for churches, schools and the community to collect money and food near Super Bowl weekend, in order to fight hunger and poverty in local communities. This is the fifth year the YGC has participated. The Clearinghouse assisted 588 families in January. Numerous items were also donated from Multi-Color Corp. employees and people throughout the community. Shown are Scott County Clearinghouse Executive Director Nelson Spaulding, YGC members Braden Hale, Lauren Turner, Evan Howser, Josiah Croasdell, Haley Mullins, Isaak Mount, Tori Rone, Kaleb Mount and Kevin Jentzen.
