Scott County Community Foundation board member Jamie Longacre presents a check for $300 to Scottsburg Middle School teacher Kristy Cobbs. The grant was awarded from the Gladys A. Berna Education Fund at the Community Foundation, and will be used to purchase scooters for the physical education classes. The scooters are used during Olympic Days Challenges, “Crossing the Ocean” activities, free play time for special education students, and more.
The Gladys A. Berna Education Fund was established to honor the legacy of “Miss Gladys,” who taught in Scott County for 38 years.
