SCHOLARSHIPS THROUGH SCOTT COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

The Scott County Community Foundation has numerous scholarships to aid in the continuing of education. We have simplified the application process for several scholarships. There is now one standard application to be used for these scholarships.

Not all scholarships listed below are currently available, as some funds are still growing to be able to distribute awards.

  • Alice and Gerald L. Miner Scholarship Fund
    This scholarship is available for Scottsburg High School graduating seniors. You must have a G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher. Activities and financial need will be considered.

  • Austin High School Alumni Association Scholarship Fund
    This scholarship is available for graduating Austin High School seniors.
  • Carol Pettit Memorial Scholarship Fund
    This scholarship is available for graduating seniors who attended Vienna-Finley Elementary School and plan to pursue a college degree in the field of education. This is a one-year scholarship and the amount is based on the earnings of the fund.

  • Charles G. Nolan Memorial Scholarship Fund
    This scholarship is for any graduating senior of Scott County (Austin High School, Scottsburg High School or home-school) who wants to major in mathematics.

  • Christie Crafton Memorial Scholarship Fund
    This scholarship provides money to a graduating senior from Scottsburg who plans to pursue a career in education.

  • Constance Kenninger Music Education Fund
    This scholarship is for students who want to pursue a degree in music, and who demonstrate financial need, or to be used by music teachers in Scott County to help students who have financial need to rent or purchase musical equipment and/or provide support to music teachers for musical education and/or projects.

  • Dottie Shelhamer Memorial Scholarship Fund
    This scholarship is for an Austin High School senior girl who has financial need and demonstrates the life-like qualities possessed by Dottie Shelhamer.

  • Epply Shields Memorial Scholarship Fund
    This scholarship is available for eligible graduating seniors at Scottsburg High School who are enrolled in an undergraduate or post secondary program as a full time student taking at least 12 semester credit hours. This is a renewable scholarship. These may be renewed from year to year if the student continues to meet the eligibility criteria.

  • Greater Scott County Chamber of Commerce Education Award
    The purpose of this fund is to provide financial assistance to individuals in meeting educational goals beyond high school. Applications are available from the Chamber office or your high school counselor.

  • Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship
    “The purpose of the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program is to help raise the level of educational attainment in Indiana and to leverage further the ability of Indiana’s Community Foundations to enhance the quality of life of the state’s residents."

  • Philip Glenn Martin Memorial Scholarship
    In memory of Phil Martin, this scholarship has been established for graduates of Scottsburg High School residing in Finley Township who have chosen to further their education.

  • Scott Memorial Hospital IUS Scholarship
    This scholarship is for a student who is a Scott County resident and is pursuing a degree at Indiana University Southeast in the medical field. Applications are available from Scott Memorial Hospital.

  • Scott Memorial Hospital Ivy Tech Scholarship
    This scholarship is for a student who is a Scott County resident and is pursuing a degree at Ivy Tech in the medical field. Applications are available from Scott Memorial Hospital.

  • Scottsburg Lions Club (Donald Q. Reid Memorial Scholarship Fund)
    The Donald Q. Reid Memorial Scholarship provides scholarship(s) in memory of Donald Reid to graduates of Scottsburg High School. The initial investment was made by the Scottsburg Lions Club. Applications are available from your guidance counselor.

  • Timothy Michael Wolf Memorial Scholarship
    In memory of Tim Wolf, a member of the Scottsburg High School Class of 1994, this scholarship has been established by his family to provide scholarships to graduates of Scottsburg High School who have chosen to further their education.
