SCHOLARSHIPS THROUGH SCOTT COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

The Scott County Community Foundation has numerous scholarships to aid in the continuing of education. We have simplified the application process for several scholarships. There is now one standard application to be used for these scholarships.

Not all scholarships listed below are currently available, as some funds are still growing to be able to distribute awards.

  • Alice and Gerald L. Miner Scholarship Fund
    This scholarship is available for Scottsburg High School graduating seniors. You must have a G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher. This scholarship is worth $2,000.
  • Austin High School Alumni Association Scholarship Fund
    This scholarship will be available for graduating Austin High School seniors. This scholarship is not available this year.
  • Carol Pettit Memorial Scholarship Fund
    This scholarship is available for graduating seniors who attended Vienna-Finley Elementary School and plan to pursue a college degree in the field of education. This is a one-year scholarship and the amount is based on the earnings of the fund, which is $254 this year.
  • Charles G. Nolan Memorial Scholarship Fund
    This scholarship will be for any graduating senior of Scott County (Austin High School, Scottsburg High School or home-school) who wants to major in mathematics. This scholarship is not available this year.
  • Christie Crafton Memorial Scholarship Fund
    This scholarship provides money to a graduating senior from Scottsburg who plans to pursue a career in education. The amount is based on the earnings of the fund, which this year is $314.
  • Dale McNeely Scholarship Fund
    Established from the Martha McNeely estate in honor of her husband, Dale McNeely. This scholarship is for graduating seniors from Scottsburg High School and is worth $10,000.
  • Epply Shields Memorial Scholarship Fund
    This scholarship is available for eligible graduating seniors at Scottsburg High School who are enrolled in an undergraduate or post secondary program as a full time student. This is a renewable scholarship over four years and the amount is based on the earnings of the fund, which is $3,396 this year.
  • Greater Scott County Chamber of Commerce Education Award
    The purpose of this fund is to provide financial assistance to individuals in meeting educational goals beyond high school. A $500 scholarship will be awarded to one Austin High School senior and one Scottsburg High School senior.
  • Kenninger Music Education Fund
    This scholarship will be for students who want to pursue a degree in music, and who demonstrate financial need, or to be used by music teachers in Scott County to help students who have financial need to rent or purchase musical equipment and/or provide support to music teachers for musical education and/or projects. This scholarship is not available this year.
  • Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship
    The purpose of the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program is to help raise the level of educational attainment in Indiana and to leverage further the ability of Indiana’s Community Foundations to enhance the quality of life of the state’s residents. This scholarship pays for four years of tuition at any Indiana public or private college, as well as $800 per year for books.
  • Mary Elizabeth - Virgil S. Miller Memorial Scholarship

              This scholarship will allow a student from Austin High School and a student from

              Scottsburg High School to pursue a degree in higher education. It is worth $1,000.

  • Philip Glenn Martin Memorial Scholarship
    In memory of Phil Martin, this scholarship has been established for graduates of Scottsburg High School residing in Finley Township who have chosen to further their education. The amount is based upon the earnings of the fund. This scholarship is not available this year.
  • Scott Memorial Hospital Guild Brunton-Mumford Scholarship
    This scholarship is for Austin High School seniors, Scottsburg High School seniors, or adults who will major in the medical field. It is worth up to $5,000. This scholarship is not available this year.
  • Scott Memorial Hospital IUS Scholarship
    This scholarship is for a student who is a Scott County resident and is pursuing a degree at Indiana University Southeast in the medical field. Applications are available from Indiana University Southeast.
  • Scott Memorial Hospital Ivy Tech Scholarship
    This scholarship is for a student who is a Scott County resident and is pursuing a nursing degree or certificate at Ivy Tech. Applications are available from Ivy Tech Community College-Sellersburg.
  • Timothy Michael Wolf Memorial Scholarship
    In memory of Tim Wolf, a member of the Scottsburg High School Class of 1994, this scholarship has been established by his family to provide scholarships to graduates of Scottsburg High School who have chosen to further their education. It is worth $5,000.
  • Walter S. and Clarice (White) Bridgewater Memorial Scholarship
    This scholarship is for a student at Scottsburg High School who demonstrates financial need. It is worth $1,000.
