CURRENT FUNDS AVAILABLE AT THE SCOTT COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
Anyone can add to any existing fund at any time. Whether your passion is education, the arts, historic preservation, youth, elderly, faith or the community -- there is a fund to fit your need!
- Addie Mae Graham Memorial Fund: Established in loving memory of Eric Graham’s mother, Addie Mae Graham. The purpose is to provide support to charitable organizations.
- AHS Alumni Scholarship Fund: This scholarship is for graduating seniors from Austin High School.
- Alice and Gerald L. Miner Scholarship Fund: Established by the children of Alice and Gerald Miner; is used for scholarships for graduates of Scottsburg High School.
- Austin Beautification Endowment Fund: This fund was established in 1999 to support projects of the Austin Beautification Committee, such as welcome signs, holiday lights, trophies for the Christmas parade, grounds keeping in the parks and flower beds around town.
- Austin High School Academic Team Fund: Supports Austin High School’s annual academic competition.
- Carol L. Pettit Scholarship Fund: To provide scholarship support to a student who attended Vienna-Finley Elementary School and plans to pursue a college degree in the field of education. The scholarship was established in memory of Carol Pettit, who gave many years of service to Vienna-Finley Elementary.
- Charles G. Nolan Memorial Scholarship Fund: This scholarship was established in loving memory of Charles Nolan, and will be awarded to any Scott County graduate who plans to major in mathematics.
- Christie Crafton Memorial Scholarship Fund: Christie Crafton was a dedicated teacher. This scholarship was established soon after she passed away from cancer at the age of 42. The scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from Scottsburg who plans to pursue a career in education.
- Dale McNeely Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships for Scottsburg High School seniors.
- Dr. William and Diann Scott Memorial Donor Advised Fund: To support charitable organizations in Scott County, with an emphasis on education and indigent health care.
- Dr. William and Diann Scott Memorial Unrestricted Fund: To support charitable organizations in Scott County.
- Dobbins Family Fund: Provides charitable contributions suggested by the Dobbins Family.
- Donald Q. Reid Memorial Scholarship Fund: Provides scholarships in memory of Donald Reid to graduates of Scottsburg High School.
- Dottie Shelhamer Memorial Fund: Established in memory of Dottie Shelhamer, it will provide support for Scott County School District 1 as recommended by the family.
- Ed McGuire Memorial Fund: In memory of Ed McGuire to the First Christian Church for Wonder Valley Christian Camp and other scholarship funds or charities as designated by the donors.
- Epply Shields Memorial Scholarship Fund: This fund was established from a trust in September 1997 with the primary purpose of benefiting Scottsburg High School graduates whose goal is to teach in an elementary or secondary educational program.
- First Christian Church Senior Citizens Fund: To support the goals of the senior citizens of Scottsburg First Christian Church.
- First Christian Church Youth Fund: To fund youth activities or needed items.
- Greater Scott County Chamber of Commerce Educational Endowment Fund: To provide financial assistance to individuals in meeting educational goals beyond high school. One award each is given to a Scottsburg High School and Austin High School senior.
- Hazel Gillespie Hunger Fund: To support Scottsburg United Methodist Church’s mission programs designated for hunger relief.
- John and Janice Martin Unrestricted Endowment Fund: John and Janice chose to commemorate their wedding day on August 3, 2002, in a very special way by establishing an endowment fund that would continue on in time, like their commitment to each other. The purpose is to provide support to charitable organizations.
- Joyce Hamilton Historic Preservation Endowment Fund: To support charitable projects of Oard Springs School, including family and other projects, maintenance, restoration and purchase of equipment.
- Kenneth Roseberry Memorial Fund: To assist in the payment of medical expenses for the next legitimate organ donor recipient from Scott County.
- Kenninger Music Education Fund: To provide a scholarship to students who want to pursue a degree in music, and who demonstrate financial need, and to be used by music teachers in Scott County to help students who have financial need to rent or purchase musical equipment and/or provide support to music teachers for musical education and/or projects.
- Kimberlin Creek Baptist Church Cemetery: To provide financial support to the Kimberlin Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
- Lauren Graham Memorial Breast Cancer Fund: Established in loving memory of Eric and Diane Graham’s daughter, Lauren. She was tragically killed in an auto accident in December 2004. The funds will provide support to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
- Lauren Graham Memorial Fund: Established in loving memory of Eric and Diane Graham's daughter, Lauren. The funds will provide support to charitable organizations.
- Lauren Graham Memorial Tennis Fund: Established in loving memory of Eric and Diane Graham’s daughter, Lauren. She was tragically killed in an auto accident in December 2004. The funds will provide support to Scott District 2 tennis.
- Lilly Scholar Endowment Fund: For educational scholarships or youth-related projects.
- Martin Christian Education Fund: This fund was established by the Scottsburg First Christian Church to provide support for its educational programs.
- Mary Elizabeth - Virgil S. Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund: This scholarship was established in a bequest to assist students in Austin and Scottsburg high schools pursue a degree in higher education.
- Morgan Family Endowment Fund: Promotes charitable purposes in Scott and Jefferson counties suggested by the Morgan family.
- Philip Glenn Martin Memorial Scholarship Fund: Philip Glenn Martin led the effort to establish the Scott County Community Foundation, among many other accomplishments. This fund will provide a scholarship for a Scottsburg High School senior who resides in Finley Township.
- Rosalind English Trust: For the primary benefit and hospitalization at Scott Memorial Hospital of the poor, sick and indigent children of Scott County.
- Scott County 4-H Fund: Provides scholarships and awards for members of 4-H who are not participating in livestock events, and to provide support for youth leadership activities.
- Scott County Arts Council Fund: To provide support to the arts in Scott County.
- Scott County CAPE Educational Endowment Fund : Lilly Endowment awarded a $5 million Community Alliances to Promote Education (CAPE) grant to Scott County in 2001 to address educational needs. This fund will promote improved outcomes for education in Scott County.
- Scott County Community Foundation Building Fund: To support the establishment, operations and ongoing maintenance for the office facilities of the Community Foundation.
- Scott County Community Foundation Cornerstone Fund: 103 years after the formation of this fund, the purpose will be to support charitable organizations. It was established by SCCF board members and staff, showing their belief that the Foundation will serve Scott County for years to come.
- Scott County Community Foundation Operating Endowment Fund: To provide support for future operations for the Foundation.
- Scott County Community Foundation Permanent Unrestricted Endowment Fund: This fund emphasizes focused and effective types of grants, and applies only to the unrestricted philanthropic funds of the Foundation.
- Scott County Economic Development Corporation Fund: Provides financial support to the Scott County Economic Development Corporation.
- Scott County Family YMCA Endowment Fund: To support the Scott County Family YMCA.
- Scott County Heritage Center & Museum Fund: Provides financial support to the Preservation Alliance in its goals for the Scott County Heritage Museum.
- Scott County Immediate Response Fund: To provide financial support to residents of Scott County in the event of an emergency or if there are immediate needs of the county, and to assist non-profit agencies in carrying out their goals for their own programs.
- Scott County Indigent Care Fund: This fund was established in 2000 on behalf of an anonymous donor, whose passion was helping the poor. This fund provides support to the Scott County Clearinghouse.
- Scott County Literacy Council Fund: To provide financial support to teach adults reading, writing and life skills.
- Scott County Memorial Fund: To provide support to charitable organizations as directed by the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
- Scott County Youth Grantmaking Council Fund: Provides support in order to help young people understand and experience philanthropy and to encourage youth-initiated service to the community.
- Scott Memorial Hospital Guild Brunton-Mumford Scholarship: Provides scholarships to students who will major in the medical field.
- Scott Memorial Hospital/IUS Scholarship Fund: Provides a scholarship to a student who is a Scott County resident and is pursuing a degree at Indiana University Southeast in the medical field.
- Scott Memorial Hospital/Ivy Tech Scholarship Fund: Provides a scholarship to a student who is a Scott County resident and is pursuing a nursing degree at Ivy Tech Community College in Sellersburg.
- Scottsburg Beautification Committee Fund: Otis Collier was a long-time employee of Morgan Foods, a past Scottsburg Warrior basketball coach, and someone who loved gardening and was known for his beautiful rose gardens. When he passed away, he left $38,000 to the Scottsburg Beautification Committee. This fund was established to provide ongoing maintenance at the Otis Collier Memorial Garden at Lake Iola in Scottsburg.
- Scottsburg Kiwanis Club Fund: This fund will support charitable activities as recommended by the Scottsburg Kiwanis Club..
- Scottsburg United Methodist Church Endowment Fund: To provide financial support to the Scottsburg United Methodist Church.
- Timothy Michael Wolf Memorial Scholarship Fund: To provide scholarship support to Scott County seniors who plan to pursue a college degree. In August 1989 just short of his 14th birthday, Tim Wolf was diagnosed with leukemia. After battling for over three years, he went home to be with the Lord on November 9, 1992. Before he passed away he talked to his dad about a Tim Wolf Memorial Scholarship Fund. His parents Joe and Becky Wolf had their assignment of starting a scholarship in memory of their precious son.
- United Way of Scott County Operating Endowment Fund: To provide operational support to United Way of Scott County.
- United Way of Scott County Touch Tomorrow Fund: To provide support to United Way agencies.
- Walter S. and Clarice (White) Bridgewater Memorial Scholarship Fund: The purpose is to provide scholarship funds for a Scottsburg High School graduate who demonstrates financial need.
- Wolf Family Charitable Fund: To provide charitable contributions suggested by the Wolf Family.
