A student in Flossie McGannon’s class at Johnson Elementary reads her published book at a recent celebration. Students completed the writing process from brainstorming to editing to illustrating, and then sent their stories to a publishing company to receive them back in book form. The students shared their stories to family members, along with snacks and refreshments. The project was made possible through a $400 Excellence in Education grant awarded through the Scott County Community Foundation.
