CASA funding enables more volunteer training

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Training Coordinator Judy Turley meets with new volunteers Deborah Elliott and Madeline Hansrote for a training session. Turley is also the CASA Advisory Board President. CASA received a grant for $6,000 from the Scott County Community Foundation to hire additional staff and increase current staff hours to recruit, train and support enough volunteers to serve all the children in Scott County that have been ruled by the Scott Circuit Court as abused or neglected children. Volunteers work as advocates for children, often testifying in custody hearings.
