Family: My husband and I moved to Scott County from Indianapolis in 1993. He is a graduate of Indiana University and operates his own business (Hanover Accounts Services, Inc.). He is an Agricultural Credit Consultant for six county Farm Bureau Co-ops throughout Indiana. I attended Ball State University as a music major. Our anniversary is March 1 and we have been married 46 years. We have three daughters and four grandchildren. Our oldest daughter, Sheila, is a licensed LPN and has recently graduated from IUS with a degree in elementary education. Lisa lives in Avon, Indiana, and is an accountant for a group of urologists in Indianapolis. Tricia operates a home business and works part time at the Scott County School District 2 schools. Our grandchildren are Shelby, who is a junior at Scottsburg High School and her sister, Sydney, who attends 6th grade at Scottsburg Middle School. Our grandson Arron is in fifth grade in Avon, along with his sister, Nicole, who is in fourth grade. Our other family members are our three cats and one dog.
Employment: I am a retired mortician who is now employed as organist/director of music by the Salem Presbyterian Church in Salem and New Hope Services Inc. (Futures) in Austin. I also give piano and voice lessons.
Activities/memberships/hobbies: I serve on the Englishton Park Board of Directors. I belong to the oratorical choir in Louisville, Kentucky. I am president of the Lyric Club. I belong to the Scottsburg Methodist Church. Most of my spare time is spent working on music.
How long have you served on the board? As of October 2006, I finished 6 years of service on the Scott County Community Foundation Board of Directors. I became a board member again in 2008 and continue to serve this term.
Why did you join the board? Because of the Foundation I have seen many great projects started and finished and many not-for-profit organizations helped financially to expand their great works. I am excited and honored to be part of an organization that accomplishes so much for this county. Also, I am proud to live in a community which graciously supports this Foundation.
What do you like about the Scott County Community Foundation? It is an organization that has its focus on teh growth of this county now and in the future, knowing that the money in the original funds that people create is never spent but will continue to grow for the future.
