Scott County 4-H Awarded Grant

Purdue Extension Scott County/Scott County 4-H was awarded a grant for $2,100 from the Scott County Community Foundation to allow youth of all ages to participate in 4-H. The organization was surprised with the news at a recent visit. Shown are Foundation grants committee member Hank Jentzen, County Extension Director Jackie Benham and Program Assistant Debbie Perry. “The Scott County 4-H is honored to receive the funding to take 4-H to the classrooms in Scott County schools. This enables the staff to bring educational researched based curriculum to youth who may not be able to participate in a 4-H club setting. When the youth visit the Fair and see their exhibits and ribbons, the smile on their faces is priceless,” said Benham. The Community Foundation awarded over $13,000 in grants this year, and will formally recognize recipients at the “Thanks4Giving” fall dinner on Nov. 13.
