Youth Grantmaking Council Named "Mayor's Good Neighbor" Award Winner

The Scott County Youth Grantmaking Council, a program of the Scott County Community Foundation, was named the 2009 Good Neighbor Award Winner at the Scottsburg Mayor’s Good Neighbor Banquet held June 12. The Council, comprised of 20 students from throughout the county, was named the recipient in the church/ school/ civic /other category for youth groups age 18 and under. The goals of the Council are to provide opportunities for leadership development, provide positive peer support, learn about philanthropy and serving the community, form a partnership with other youth and adults, and grow the Scott County Youth Grantmaking Council Endowment Fund for the future. Two of the Council members, Evan Comer and Lauren Howser, were also nominated in the individual youth category.
