Lexington Fire Department Receives Grant

Lexington Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department was awarded a $1,650 grant from the Scott County Community Foundation to purchase communication equipment. The organization was surprised with the news at a recent visit. Shown are Lexington Fire Chief Terry Walker and Scott County Community Foundation board member Adam Gibson. “The Lexington Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank the Community Foundation and all of its members for awarding us this grant. Without their support it would be difficult to provide the equipment that is needed to receive communication from 911 for response to the fire and rescue runs in our community,” said Walker. The Community Foundation awarded over $13,000 in grants this year, and will formally recognize recipients at the “Thanks4Giving” fall dinner on Nov. 13. |
