Hobbies, Interests, and Life: By nature, I am a student and a teacher. I currently teach Accounting, Business Foundations, Digital Communication Tools, and Economics at Austin High School. Outside of the classroom, I serve as a teacher in the Austin Learning Center's Afterschool Program for middle school students - a program similar to the STARS summer youth program I have had the opportunity to work with in the past. I have served several years as Sunday School teacher for elementary-age students at Kimberlin Creek Baptist Church and Austin Christian Church. I have also had the opportunity to serve as a counselor at Westport Baptist Youth Camp and Wonder Valley Christian Camp the past few years. Andrea and I currently reside in Lexington, Indiana.
Why did you join the board? As a teacher, I've found that reoccurring frustrations often serve as great inspirations. It is my hope that my personal inspiration adds to the collective inspiration of the Board of Directors and members of Scott County.
